Urban Futures at the School of Environment and Development
Research and Teaching on Urban Futures at the SED cuts across disciplines (Architecture, Geography, Planning, Development Studies) and across the conventional North-South divide. It engages with the process of urbanization in all its complexity and its entire geographical spectrum. Building on an extensive network of international collaboration, the SED's expertise on Urban Futures promotes critical engagement with issues of poverty, sustainability, transnationalism, globalisation, architectural design, equity and exclusion, ecology, political economy, urban policy, consumption, security, infrastructures, and urban cultures.
