This project is funded by the EPSRC, NERC, DEFRA, EA and Scottish Executive, who commissioned research via the Flood Risk Management Research Consortium (FRMRC). Twenty-eight collaborating institutions have been involved in the overall development of the Consortium’s plan of proposed research. This strand of research involves relating the results of previous studies focused on managing flood risk via spatial planning into a practical applied context within the Trent river corridor. Specifically, the study examines the potential of river corridor-based Area Action Plans to assist the development of a locally relevant and effective flood risk management policy.
