Funding

Funding for Masters degree programmes can be obtained both as part of a longer programme of study leading to a doctoral degree (PhD), or as a standalone grant.

Masters students in SED are normally eligible for financial support from one of the following research councils:

SED University of Manchester Alumni Bursary

SED offers a £500 bursary to University of Manchester alumni enrolling on one of its Masters degree programmes in Geography, International Development or Planning.

To be eligible for the award applicants must have graduated from the University of Manchester with a First Class Bachelor’s degree. Eligible applicants are automatically nominated for the awards once they receive an offer, and the bursary is deducted from the student's fee at registration.
