Development Informatics Group (DIG)
The Development Informatics Group seeks to develop and disseminate theoretically-grounded and practice-oriented understanding of information and ICTs in socio-economic development. It focuses particularly on developmental issues concerned with the IT sector, ICT policy, e-governance, e-business and e-learning. The group plays a major part in the University's Centre for Development Informatics (CDI), which researches the role of information systems in developing countries.
Its members also have an international reputation in providing consultancy and policy analysis services to international and multilateral organisations, and are committed to promoting economic and social development, primarily within lower-income countries and for disadvantaged groups.
