University Open Days

The University usually holds two annual open days, one In June and one in November. This will give potential applicants a chance to have a look around the university campus and visit this school and others within the university. The Geography admissions tutor will give a detailed presentation and members of the admissions and administration team will be available to answer any queries you may have. Parents and Teachers are also more than welcome to attend.

Geography Taster Days

Once an application has been submitted and an offer has been made, we will invite applicants to a taster day. These will take place on a Wednesday afternoon from November until March and will give a further insight into Geography at Manchester ; these will be hosted by the Academic staff and MUGS (Manchester Undergraduate Geography Society).

Taster Day Programme:
12.45 Registration – Arthur Lewis Building (No 36 campus map)
1.00-2.00 Introduction lecture by admissions tutor and MUGS (Manchester Undergraduate Geography Society)
2.00-3.00 Taster lecture/Taster tutorial
3.00-3.30 Student-led campus tours
3.30-4.00 Refreshments and opportunity for questions

Parents or guardians are very welcome to attend. If more than two people wish to accompany a candidate, then we do welcome a warning so that we can make sure that provision is made for you. When applicants go either for their lecture/tutorial or on a tour of Geography, the admissions tutor will give a brief talk to parents and will be available to answer any specific queries. The parents will then be taken on a tour of the school and the university.
