Geography research seminars
The research seminar series offers staff and students the opportunity to engage with new and emerging geographical research. Over the past three years, over 50 speakers have been hosted by Geography’s research groups and guests range from early career academics through to those who are internationally renowned.
International speakers have included for example, Prof. Ed Soja, UCLA, Prof. Dick Walker, University of California, Prof. Kim England, University of Washington, Dr Mark Hildebrandt, Southern Illinois University, Prof. Garry Huckleberry, University of Arizona, and Prof. Henry Yeung, National University of Singapore.
A number of high profile UK based speakers have also given presentations such as Prof. Gill Valentine, University of Leeds, Prof. Stephen Graham, Durham University, Prof. Danny Dorling, University of Sheffield, Prof. Rob Kitchin, National University of Ireland, Prof. David Sadler, University of Liverpool, Prof Mike Summerfield University of Edinburgh, Prof. John Wainwright, University of Sheffield, Prof. Stuart Lane, Durham University, Prof Simon Marvin, University of Salford, Prof. Allan Cochrane, the Open University and Prof. Matthew Gandy, UCL.
