CCRG Dissertation Prize for Thomas Wood
Thomas Wood, who graduated this summer with a First Class BSc in Geography, is joint winner of the 2008 dissertation prize awarded by the Climate Change Research Group of the RGS-IBG. Among ten submissions, his dissertation on “Assessing Climate Change Induced Implications for Future Energy Usage in Greater Manchester” stood out and he is sharing the prize with a fellow graduate from the University of Southampton. Congratulations to Tom for an excellent piece of work.

Professor Rob Kitchin awarded a Simon visiting professorship
Professor Rob Kitchin (National University of Ireland, Maynooth) has been awarded a Simon visiting professorship in the School of Environment and Development. He will be hosted in Geography until April 2007 and will be involved in a range of research activities in the School.
