IDPM and SED Congratulate Stuart Rutherford on OBE
SED congratulates Stuart Rutherford, formerly an Honorary Senior Research Fellow at the School's Institute for Development Policy and Management (IDPM), on the award of an OBE for services to international development.
Stuart is known all around the world for his pioneering research on microfinance and especially for his books The Poor and Their Money (Oxford University Press) and Portfolios of the Poor (Princeton University Press) – both of which were developed in close relationship with IDPM’s Finance and Development research programme.
Stuart works closely with IDPM in Bangladesh and provides supervision and guidance to our PhD students working on microfinance.
